Time Well Wasted

Dear Doll-face,

Lemme tell you what your brother and I did today...

You see, I downloaded a blank neighborhood from the Sims Exchange to fill up how I choose.  I got sick of constantly having to place and replace lots all the time in base worlds.  I have spent the better part of my last few days off creating content in this world.  Also, yesterday (Monday) on my actual day off I entered a foundation challenge where I downloaded a foundation, and then had to build on top of it.

This is the house I built. Check out "The Sim Supply" on
Facebook to see the contest information.

Yesterday while I was working on the foundation Michael said he wanted to make a dragon library on it... but instead he and I spent most of today working on a library lot for my blank world together.

This is our 40x40 blank lot, just starting to be built upon.
This is the beginning of an idea.
Here is our new project starting to take a shape.
We are fine tuning the first outline of our beast!
To get the right shape, we needed to add more stories to the building.
You can really start to see our new friend in this picture!
As you can see here, he is green, and is napping on some gold.
We then added windows and doors to the building.  The red windows you see on his
mouth now had to be removed.  They corrupted the game file. It took
multiple hours for us to figure out why we kept freezing
then crashing to desktop.
Finally we got the basic layout, along with wallpaper and flooring.
The second story has a bunch of computers and a small cafe! (The downstairs,
which we got too tired to photograph, was just a ton of bookshelves, a magical hidden
room, and a kids learning/play area.)
Here you can see we added some art easels and decor to the balconies.
This is our completed library at night time.
A similar shot, during waking hours.
From another angle.

We named it Biblio de l'Ancien Dragon Vert.  This is the full story behind our lot, which there wasn't enough room for on the exchange:

A long time ago a young explorer named Sophia was marooned on Affinity Island.  She encountered a green elder dragon who swallowed her whole.  However, because Sophia rolled high on her charisma and intelligence checks, the elder dragon quickly became enchanted with her naivete and kept her prisoner deep in his stomach.  He taught her many things over the years, and even took to swallowing books whole so she had things to read while he slept.  Lore says that the Elder Green Dragon fell asleep right here, and as his body grew cold Sophia used the magic she learned within his gut to transform him into a great library.

(You are often the target of many Sim adventures... and the story behind a lot of community buildings, like the fire department named after the brave Sophia, epic firefighter!)

WE LOVE YOU! IMMA SLEEP NOW! (We may or may not have spent over 12 hours working on this today.)
